Chris McCarville, Executive Director
Chris oversees all Catholic Foundation of Southwest Iowa (CFSWIA) activities in his role. Specifically, Chris is responsible for CFSWIA investments, planned giving initiatives, donor advised funds and also serves as the primary liaison between the CFSWIA and all parishes, schools and organizations within the Diocese of Des Moines.
Prior to assuming this role, Chris was the Director of Institutional Advancement for the Holy Family Catholic Schools in Dubuque from 2011-2016. From 2008-2011, Chris served as Director of Alumni and Constituent Relations at Jesuit College Preparatory School in Dallas, Texas. He also served in a variety of capacities at Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids from 2002-2008 which included Associate Dean of Students and Theology Instructor. Chris earned a BA from Mount Mercy College and also holds an MA from the University of Northern Iowa in Educational Leadership.
Chris and his wife Erica have a son, Jack. They live in West Des Moines and are active parishioners at St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
Brooke Pulliam, Director of Planned Giving
Brooke is responsible for facilitating planned giving initiatives in support of Catholic schools, parishes, and organizations within the Diocese of Des Moines. Brooke specializes in working with individuals and couples who have a desire to create a lasting legacy of financial support in our Catholic community.
Prior to coming to the CFSWIA, Brooke was the Major Gifts and Alumni Coordinator at Dowling Catholic High School. Brooke has worked in major gifts, marketing, communications, and relationship building for most of her professional life. She is a proud graduate of Iowa State University with degrees in Marketing and Management.
A native of Des Moines, Brooke and her husband David, have three children: Taylor, Laney and Nick. Brooke looks forward to the positive impact CFSWIA can continue to have on our children and families. The Pulliams reside in Des Moines and are active parishioners at Sacred Heart Parish.
Rachel Seidl, Marketing and Communications Manager
Rachel is the face behind all of our resource materials, online content, and creative content. She also manages the day-to-day office tasks.
Prior to coming to the CFSWIA, Rachel was a student at Loras College. She studied Public Relations and spent her time at Loras involved in Campus Ministry, Loras College Dance Marathon, and worked at the on-campus library. Rachel has a passion for serving through the Church. She spent the summer of 2017 as a staff member at Catholic Youth Camp and has led various retreats, religious education courses, and Confirmation prep courses and retreats.
A native of Urbandale, Rachel attended St. Pius X School and Dowling Catholic High School. She has three older siblings, Becca, Matt, and Laurie, and she has her first niece on the way! Rachel is excited to help Catholic parishes, schools, and organizations in the Diocese through her creative eyes and hands. Rachel is living in Urbandale and is an active parishioner at St. Pius X Parish.
